I have been with Blinds to Go for about 3 1/2 years now. In that time, I have been challenged to break out of my shell, take feedback and use it positively, and to guide customers to what they want and need rather than “just selling”.
I had once been frustrated by each of these skills as well as the day-to-day issues that arose, and I have grown significantly from it, both personally and professionally. For example, now I don’t take feedback personally and realize people are trying to help me. I have become more patient with both customers and coworkers, and have the ability to start and continue conversations with complete strangers.
The support given here from great coworkers has been a huge part of my ability to grow. I had started as a Design Consultant and with the help and support of the people I work closely with daily, have grown and matured into a management position. The best advice I can provide to those pursuing a career with Blinds To Go is to be open and willing to learn.
There is a lot more to learn about blinds than one would think! Not only are you are you taking in a ton of information about blinds and shades, but being open to personal growth by feedback is the largest (and most rewarding) part of the job.
